Bell is providing customers with an enjoyable and intuitive entertainment experience from TV, movies, games, apps and fitness backed by the latest technology. New features include:

• Google Play apps – Search and access over 7,000 apps with the Google Play catalogue.
• Voice remote powered by Google Assistant – Search for shows and movies on Fibe TV and other streaming services that support this capability, control the TV and smart devices or get answers to questions like current weather or traffic conditions.
• Universal search – Customers can now find the TV shows and movies they want to watch more easily without flipping between different streaming apps. The universal search function displays all results across Fibe TV and each of the supported subscribed streaming services.
• Cloud PVR – New PVR capabilities enable customers to watch their favourite shows on their own terms, when it's convenient for them, with the ability to record up to 10 shows at a time and store them for a year.
• Shortcut buttons on remote – Customers can quickly and easily access streaming services like Crave, Netflix and Prime Video with dedicated buttons on the new Fibe TV remote.

Shaw TV subscribers in Western Canada can now use their voice remote to instantly access FOX Entertainment’s free streaming service on their set top box

Tubi features a library of movies and TV shows, as well as top-rated FOX titles, Including THE MASKED SINGER and NAME THAT TUNE

SAN FRANCISCO, July 20, 2022 – Tubi (www.tubi.tv), FOX Entertainment’s free ad-supported streaming service, today announced it has partnered with Shaw Communications Inc., one of Western Canada’s leading connectivity companies, to make its service available to Shaw TV customers.

Today, Shaw TV customers now have instant access to live and on-demand content, which includes Tubi’s comprehensive library of award-winning movies and hit television shows, alongside Tubi Originals, including CORRECTIVE MEASURES, starring Bruce Willis and Michael Rooker; TITANIC 666, starring AnnaLynne McCord and Keesha Sharpe; and recently launched documentary SINS OF THE FATHER: THE GREEN RIVER KILLER. New titles available in July include “Gravity,” “American Sniper,” “The Notebook,” “Ocean’s Thirteen” and “The Town.”

As a result of this partnership, Shaw TV customers are now able to find any title provided through Tubi using their voice-powered remote, making it easier for them to search and discover content. This integration interface means that every available movie or episode of a show can easily be found in one place, regardless of whether it’s available through Tubi, Shaw On Demand, airing live, or recorded on the PVR.

The @StreamOnABudget team is developing a new Roku channel coming soon and will be launched sometime in the fall with 100% fully licensed live TV streams, radio stations and public domain media. The app will be called @StreamOnABudget #Showcase. The Team is also in the planning stages to put out a companion m3u streaming playlist to go along with the Roku app as long as the project has full approval and licensing from the content owners and distributors.

This is a great opportunity for independent content owners and distributors to showcase their great channels and reach new viewers (or listeners in the case of internet radio start-ups) to a small, but albeit enthusiastic community of Cord-Cutters and Cord-Nevers who rely on free media to get their daily entertainment. 

At launch, the @StreamOnABudget #Showcase Project will feature 7 new internet radio stations run and operated by Jessie West, an independent media distributor with a devoted Facebook following.
