Finally, at long last, Halloween is upon us this weekend. The time for all things spooky, scary and fun is approaching, and no doubt you probably have a full slate of movies, parties, trick or treating and bobbing for apples (look out for razor blades) lined up. But if you've got some down time, we recommend checking out some of this year's Halloween Horror Weekend on Midnight Pulp TV! 

It's completely, 100% ALL HORROR all weekend long, all weekend strong. Over 100 hours of horror movies, starting at 12am EST on October 28th!  Horror movies at 12:42 am Friday, 3:17pm Saturday, 5:55am Sunday; horror movies every minute of the weekend, because we wouldn't have it any other way.  And no repeats!

Roku Livens Up Screens This Fall With New Dynamic Wallpaper And Screensaver

One of the most annoying things about Roku's seasonal themes is that Roku (for some unknown reason) doesn't usually make their themes available permanently. Generally, seasonal themes for special events or holidays automatically appear on your Roku for a limited time, then once the season or event is over, the themes (meaning the wallpaper background of the main Roku screen and the accompanying screensaver) are automatically purged from your device. You can't find them in their Roku channel (app) store once they are gone.

This autumn season, Roku updated our TVs and devices with a great new theme, "Fall in the Park," which gave us a dynamic wallpaper called, well, "Fall in the Park," with animated leaves blowing in the wind across your screen, and adapted its City Stroll: Movie Magic screensaver with matching fall colors. The updated screensaver also included new movie references embedded as "Easter Eggs" in scenes as they scrolled across your screen. About a week later, the wallpaper disappeared reverting to the default I had set, and the original City Scroll: Movie Magic screensaver returned.

I had expressed my disappointment about this in my Facebook group, We Are Streamers On A Budget. Soon thereafter some members had alerted me that the wallpaper and screensaver were updated as individual channels in the Roku app store. Does that mean that Roku is finally making their seasonal themes permanent for all to enjoy any time of year?

I certainly dig the "Dynamic Wallpapers," I wish they had more of them. The only one that I am aware exists is the Winter Wonderland wallpaper that has falling snowflakes, but that's about it. Until now!

Roku's new autumn-themed dynamic wallpaper is now available by searching with the term FALL IN THE PARK, and find the new screensaver with the term FALL STROLL IN THE PARK.
