Remember that “first day of school” feeling? Sure, you were a little nervous, but you were also excited. You put on that brand-new fall outfit you laid out the night before, you reunited with some of your friends for the first time in months, you couldn’t wait to see who you’d be sitting next to in your classes, and when you got home, there would be new fall shows to watch on TV. At FilmRise, we wanted to capture that feeling again, so we put together marathons celebrating everything great about September.
Kicking off our September line-up is the “Back to School with 21 Jump Street” marathon on FilmRise Classic TV. Join your favorite sexy undercover cops -- featuring Johnny Depp -- as they investigate high school crime and classroom capers. We’re also introducing a new show on our free channels: the hit Australian TV show Sea Patrol. Get to know the crew of patrol boat HMAS Hammersley as they patrol Australia’s northern seas in a weekend marathon.
To celebrate the Emmy Awards on September 19th, we’ve got a roster of our favorite Emmy-winning favorites with our “Emmy Award Classics” marathon! Join us for such amazing Emmy-winners as That Girl, Highway to Heaven and more! In addition, our monthly “Full Moon Madness” marathon continues, saluting every month’s full moon with some scary, hairy werewolf favorites.
Rounding out the month, we’re honoring Hispanic Heritage Month on our FilmRise Free Movies channel with a diverse marathon of Latinx films including Alejandro González Padilla’s past lives drama REGRESA, Ido Mizrahy’s bullfighter documentary GORED, Cesc Gay’s sweet dog-friendly comedy TRUMAN, and (of course) much more.
